The Company men
It tells the story of a family man who after several years in an office is fired and his whole life takes a turn. Something this film teaches us is that everyone, all of us, can be in that place and be fired from our jobs, no matter how impossible we create it. For such situations it is important to be prepared and have an emergency fund that allows us to react and pay our expenses until we overcome the crisis.
The Wolf of Wall Street
Leonardo DiCaprio embodies an investor who seeks to succeed at all costs, and commits large frauds in the US stock market. His maneuvers are only intended to earn a great commission for him, regardless of whether he broke the law or how much he risked. All while plunging into a world of drugs, women and more excesses.
Addicted to shopping (Confessions of a Shopaholic)
In this film, the protagonist faces what we all live in every day: the temptation to buy what we want, with the difference that everything is more intense for her, because she agrees again and again to buy what you shouldn’t, running out of your cards and being unhappy in the process. A film about breaking cycles and discovering our true talents and how to take advantage of them.
The Pursuit of Happyness
In this film we follow a father and his son (and those who star in him are literally a father, Will Smith, and his son) on their journey to find some economic stability and survive in the midst of a crisis and some bad decisions. It also teaches us that we do not need too much to be happy and that determination and perseverance are key to achieving our dreams, as well as the maneuvers that people use to survive on a very limited budget.
